Romanian born cellist Mihai Marica joins the RSO on February 7th as soloist in a performance of Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic and lyric masterpiece, Rococo Variations for Cello and Orchestra.  Having performed worldwide to critical acclaim, Mihai currently resides in New York and is a member of the Amphion String Quartet which is in residence with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

In his final season with the RSO, Assistant Conductor Petko Dimitrov is a native of Bulgaria.  Petko will be on the podium for a performance of Dvorak’s all-time audience favorite, the New World Symphony.  Written while Dvorak was Director of the Nation Conservatory of Music in New York, it is a synthesis of “Old World” form and style with the spirit and energy of the “New World.”

Our country was built by a melting pot of immigrants.  The RSO celebrates this proud heritage in music with a concert sure to please all music lovers!
