One of the most popular events was Yoga on the Grass, performed to the accompaniment of Nicholas Aoki’s violin music and, as usual, the wide variety of children’s activities produced many happy faces.
Northern Westchester Hospital Center provided health screenings, the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps demonstrated the versatility of its ambulance and the Vista Ambulance Corps distributed safety tips.
More than 30 vendors and specialists were on hand to disperse information about various issues such as nutrition, exercise, and other health issues. There was even a financial advisor there, to help people find a way to financial security and, therefore, wellness.
Meanwhile, as people snacked on sandwiches and ice cream, the Lewisboro Chamber of Commerce sold raffle tickets for goods and services donated by local merchants.
The Chamber of Commerce is anxious to enlist more volunteers to help organize and implement next year’s Wellness Day. The date has already been chosen: Saturday, May 10, 2014.
