The Metropolitan Transportation Authority approved an $8 million proposal to replace the big board at Grand Central Terminal as part of a $124 million capital project intended to improve communication for passengers traveling on Metro-North trains.

Additionally, the project calls for the replacement of boards outside of each gate at Grand Central. More than a dozen Metro-North stations will also get new PA systems and wireless Internet. The new board is expected to be put in place before 2020.
