Elevation Burger In Rye Brook, Yonkers Is Finalist In DVlicious Contest

RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- The burger, America's quintessential comfort food, can be dressed up (think Kobe beef, an expensive cheese, a housemade bun) or down (as in simple ketchup, maybe a pickle). Anyway you flip it, it's a winner.

Elevation Burger, 176 S. Ridge St., Rye Brook, (914) 305-6700; 228 Market St, Yonkers, (914) 358-9400

Years in Business: Four in Rye Brook, three in Yonkers.

Number of Burgers Offered: Four beef, two veggie burgers (one vegan), plus lots of build-your-own combinations.

Most Popular: “The Original,"  two organic beef patties, two slices of premium, unprocessed cheddar cheese, fresh lettuce, crisp pickles, tomato and signature Elevation sauce. Other big sellers include the BBQ Bacon Cheddar and the Mushroom Swiss Burger, both of which started out as limited time special offers that due to overwhelming guest response are now featured on the menu.

Secret "Sauce" Behind Burger's Flavor: The beef, said Owner Daniel Magnus, a Rye resident. "All of our beef is sourced from a select group of family farmers whose sole focus is the humane raising of premium 100 percent grass-fed, free-range, organic beef," he said.

Worth Special Mention: There are more than 25 toppings including organic bacon, fried organic egg, guacamole and unprocessed Swiss cheese. Choices also include the standard potato roll bun, a whole wheat bun or lettuce wrap (for a gluten-free, low-carb option).

Magnus's personal favorite is the Elevation Burger (his personal creation): Two patties, two slices of cheddar, double organic bacon, caramelized onions, jalapeños, balsamic mustard and blue cheese.
