Underhills Crossing, 74 Pondfield Road, Bronxville; (914) 337-1200

Why Go: Tucked among the shops on busy Pondfield Road, this mainstay bistro racks up loyal customers with its intimate ambiance. Brunch includes the soothing sounds of live piano music.

Worth Waking Up For: Bloody Mary's garnished with veggies (asparagus, olives, pickles and carrots) get rave reviews. So, too, does the Eggs Florentine, a brunch staple with gently poached eggs perched atop crisp focaccia bread and spinach that is pan-flashed at the table. French toast made with soft, fluffy challah bread, dipped in an orange-flavored liqueur batter, and served with fresh berries is another winner. And who doesn't love some bagels and lox? Here, it's a tad fancier: Norwegian salmon served with tomatoes, capers and onion on a grilled bagel.

When: Saturdays and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Prix Fixe? No. Menu items are individually priced, though the brunch comes with a complimentary beverage.
