SOUTH SALEM – The Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem will hold a special lecture this Saturday, July 23, at 1 p.m. featuring William Berloni, renowned trainer for stage and screen animal actors.

The talk will celebrate the wolf’s canine cousin, the dog, and Berloni will bring along a “mystery guest.”

Berloni and his company have been training animals for the stage and screen for 30 years. He primarily takes animals rescued by shelters and prepares them for a life in the limelight.

Berloni’s pioneering human training techniques have won acclaim and multiple awards. At Saturday’s lecture, he will discuss his recent book, “Broadway Tails: Heartfelt Stories of Rescued Dogs Who Became Showbiz Superstars.” Copies of the book will be available for purchasing and signing. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the wolves at the Wolf Conservation Center.

After Berloni’s talks, guests can visit with Atka, the WCC’s ambassador wolf, as well as the Center’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. The WCC’s ambassador wolf pups will also be on view.

The cost for the event is $15, but preregistration is required. For more information and to pre-register, log onto www.nywolf.org.
