WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. The Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem will present the fundraiser, An Evening of Fashion and Music, on Sept. 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on the top floor of Neiman Marcus at the Westchester Mall in White Plains.
The money raised will help benefit the Centers new pups, Alawa and Zephyr, as well as all the wolves that live at the Center.
The event will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at the store, followed by an elegant fashion show of holiday selections for the fall, and a special performance by Neil Berg (co-producer of "100 Years of Broadway," composer/lyricist of the hit off-Broadway musical "The Price & the Pauper," and composer of two new Broadway-bound musicals "Grumpy Old Men" and "The Twelve") and his wife, Rita Harvey. Harvey made her Broadway debut in the lead role of Christine in "Phantom of the Opera," and most recently starred as Hodel in the Broadway revival of "Fiddler on the Roof" with Rosie O'Donnell and Harvey Fierstein. She will perform Broadway favorites and preview selections from upcoming productions with the assistance of Broadway friends whose schedules permit.
Helene Grimaud, the world-renowned pianist and cofounder of the Wolf Center, and Atka, the gorgeous, white Arctic wolf who is the lead ambassador of the WCC pack, will be there to greet guests and announce big news for the WCC.
Tickets are $200 per person (fully deductible), and are available now on the Wolf Center website (www.nywolf.org) or by calling 914-763-2373, ext. 1 and speaking with the registrar. Attendance is limited to 100. The attire is casual cocktail
