What To Do In Lewisboro, Pound Ridge Area This Weekend

LEWISBORO/POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – An eclectic bunch of events is on the itinerary in the Pound Ridge/Lewisboro area this weekend. Take a walk in the full moon with the wolves at the Wolf Conservation Center, check out Time Machine – American’s top Pink Floyd show – at the Ridgefield Theater, or take your kids to the annual Lewisboro Elementary School PTO circus.

Fun With Music: 11 a.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents Fun With Music, featuring Laura D’Amico, for children ages 5 and under. Registration is required. For more information, call the library at 914-764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge

Time Machine Performs Pink Floyd: 8 p.m. Time Machine, America's top Pink Floyd show, comes to the Ridgefield Playhouse. Time Machine has played across North and Central America, Europe and Asia and has appeared at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, Gathering of the Vibes, Buffalo Artpark and Germany's Rock of Ages. Gossett Brothers Farm Market: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The Gossett Brothers Farm Market features fresh produce, meats and cheese, as well as seafood. 1202 Route 35, at Gossett Brothers Nursery, South Salem.

Lewisboro Elementary Circus: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Lewisboro Elementary School PTO will hold its annual circus, featuring arcade games, face painting, craft making, food, treats and more. The snow date is Sunday. 9 Bouton Road, South Salem.

Hooked Rugs Folk Art Exhibit: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents “Hooked Rugs by Mary Parker: An American Folk Art Goes Local,” a display of hooked rugs, which runs through Feb. 13 in the library’s art gallery. Meet the Author Series: 3-4 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents its Meet the Author Series featuring Suzanne Burger, author of “Steering Your Marriage,” a self-help book for couples looking to improve their relationships. There will be a discussion followed by a book signing. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge

Full Moon Wolf Walk: 5:30-7 p.m. The Wolf Conservation Center invites you to celebrate the first full moon of 2013 with wolves. While keeping warm by the outdoor fire pit, guests will enjoy warm drinks, sugary treats and likely the symphony of howls from the 24 wolves that call the center home. Guests will learn about the history of wolves in the United States, the importance of wolves in a healthy ecosystem and the efforts to save these magnificent creatures for future generations. Guests then will take will take a short moonlit walk to visit ambassador wolves Atka, Alawa and Zephyr. Bring flashlights and dress for cold weather. Cast of "Beatlemania": 8 p.m. The cast of "Beatlemania" comes to the Pound Ridge Playhouse and recreates the sights and sounds of The Beatles. The show features members who starred in the Broadway production and have performed in all 50 states. Tickets are $47.50. Lewisboro Library Annual Meeting: 4 p.m. The library’s guest speaker at this year’s annual meeting is John Keith Russell of South Salem’s John Keith Russell Antiques. He specializes in the Shaker Movement and will discuss the Shaker influence in Lewisboro. He is regarded as one of America's most respected antiques dealers and has placed significant pieces in both private and museum collections. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Mass. The meeting will be held at the Lewisboro Library. 15 Main St., South Salem.

Winter Wolves: 1 p.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center to learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why this season is such a magical time for packs in North America. Guests will visit ambassador wolves Alawa and Zephyr, as well as the center’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Guests will enjoy hot beverages in the woodstove-heated classroom. Dress for the cold weather. Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for children under 12. Registration is required.
