What To Do In The Lewisboro and Pound Ridge Area This Weekend

LEWISBORO/POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Classic rock lovers are in for a treat this weekend as the Ridgefield Playhouse offers performances from guitar legend Dickey Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, and Roger Hodgson, the legendary voice and songwriter of Supertramp. And with the weatherman predicting above-average temperatures, it could be the perfect time to check out the myriad programs being offered by the Wolf Conservation Center.

Dickey Betts & Great Southern: 8 p.m. Dickey Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band and composer of their biggest hit, “Ramblin’ Man,” brings his acclaimed tradition of southern rock to the Ridgefield Playhouse. Second Saturday Review of Literature: 10:30 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library’s Second Saturday Review of Literature will meet to discuss “Washington Square” by Henry James. Gossett Brothers Farm Market: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The Gossett Brothers Farm Market features fresh produce, meats and cheese, as well as seafood. The market is at 1202 Route 35, at Gossett Brothers Nursery in South Salem.

Hooked Rugs Display: 10 a.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents “Hooked Rugs by Mary Parker: An American Folk Art Goes Local,” a display of hooked rugs that opens Jan. 12 and runs through Feb. 13 in the library’s art gallery. The display is open during regular library hours. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge

Winter Wolves: 2 a.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center to learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why this season is such a magical time for packs in North America. Guests will visit ambassador wolves Alawa and Zephyr, as well as the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Guests will enjoy hot beverages in our woodstove-heated classroom. Supertramp’s Roger Hodgson: 8 p.m. The legendary voice of Supertramp, Roger Hodgson, brings his “Breakfast in America” tour to the Ridgefield Playhouse. He is the composer of some of the group’s greatest hits, including “Give a Little Bit,” “Dreamer,” “Take the Long Way Home,” and “The Logical Song.” Tickets are $150 for the Gold Circle Meet & Greet, $135 for orchestra, and $125 for mezzanine. Wolves: Recovery and Challenges: 11a.m. Learn about the mythology, biology, and ecology of wolf families at the Wolf Conservation Center. Guests will learn about the present circumstances around the status of wolf management in the United States as the National Wolfwatcher Coalition offers advocacy opportunities to those who are interested in joining the effort. Bring a camera as ambassador wolves Atka, Alawa and Zephyr will be on view. Guests will be served hot beverages in the woodstove-heated classroom. Dress for cold weather.
