Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m., with the first race at 8 a.m. The fair gets under way at 10 a.m., with the town parade and Memorial Day ceremonies beginning at 12:15 p.m. The fair winds down at 3 p.m.
The races start and finish at the newly reopened Lewisboro Library with the 10K at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m. For those looking to step it up, the Challenge Run combines a runner’s time for both the 10K and the 5K. Also returning are the popular Youth Mile Fun Run at 10:45 a.m. and the Pee Wee races, in which kids ages 2 to 8 run 50-yard-plus dashes (11:05 a.m.).
More than 700 runners participate each year. For the fourth year, 10 percent of each registration fee will be donated to The Forever Molly and Gregory Fund. Online registration and complete details are available at www.southsalempc.org. Questions? Email races@southsalempc.org.
The fair will once again feature food, games, live music, craft booths, baked goods, giant cake raffle, silent auction, moon bounce and more, with many opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, and with enough hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream on hand to feed the entire town!
Organizers of the silent auction will hold a wine-and-cheese reception on Sunday, May 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a preview and early bidding.
Admission and parking for the fair are free. For further information visit www.southsalempc.org or email office@southsalempc.org.
