The biathlon consists of a seven-mile bike ride up Church Tavern Road and past Lake Truesdale and a four mile run. Church Tavern Biathlon gets its name from a former St. John's Episcopal Church building and Colonial era pub.
Participants can compete individually or as two-person relay teams. A four-mile run/walk only division is also available. Medals will be awarded to all finishers and top finishers will receive engraved silver tankards.
The churchyard will have a barbecue, kid's waterslide and live music by Quadrasaurus for racers and supporters at the finish line.
Proceeds from the event will benefit three of St. John's Episcopal Parish's outreach programs: Carpenter’s Kids, The Wounded Warrior Project and The Community Center of Northern Westchester.
The biathlon starts and ends at St. John's Episcopal Church on 82 Spring St.
