This is the first of four concerts in the sanctuary of the South Salem Presbyterian Church, in the heart of the historic South Salem Hamlet.

Entitled "Les Liaisons Musicale" the performance features violinist Ani Kavafian and pianist Lindsay Garritson. Kavafian, aninternationally acclaimed violinist, is a professor of music at Yale University and an artist member of the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society. She has appeared with virtually all of the major orchestras in the United States and at the White House on several occasions.

The northern Westchester resident will appear with recent Yale graduate, Lindsay Garritson, an international performer since the age of four and winner of numerous competitions, including top prize at the 2013 USASU Bosendorfer International Piano Competition. Together they will present a program with a French accent featuring Sonatas by Debussy and Fauré.

Recognized for bringing extraordinary keyboard performances to the heart of the South Salem Hamlet, the spring series will continue with three more concerts, on April 10, April 24 and May 8, and feature such renowned artists as Misha and Cipa Dichter, performing forehand piano, Eugenia Zukerman and Anthony Newman, and Yun-Chin Zhou, one of the most exciting young pianist in the world.

Series artistic director, Mary Jane Newman, and South Salem Presbyterian Church pastor, Rev. Dr. Chip Andrus, organized their first piano recital in the Sanctuary five years ago, and they have been pleased to see it grow into a formal series. "From its founding in 1752, the church has always functioned as a center of the community and continues to do so today," Newman noted.

Performances are on Sundays at 3 p.m. and are followed by a wine and cheese reception, sponsored by the Cross River Wine Merchant and the Horse & Hound Inn.
