“We will continue to invest in our parks and pools because they are the backbone to the quality of life that makes Westchester such an attractive place to live, work and raise a family,” Astorino said. “This summer, we opened the spray ground, giant kiddie pool and bathhouses. Next summer, the recreation and lap pool will complete this state-of-the-art facility. The final result is lots of fun at Sprain Ridge this summer and even more next year!”

Astorino introduced this legislation so that the pool reconstruction can be completed for the Summer 2018 season. The project design is already underway. Once design is completed, the county will request bids for the construction phase of the pool. Construction is expected to take nine months.

The project includes replacing the existing swimming pool with a new competition and lap pool, the installation of diving boards, and the rehabilitation of the pool deck.

The new water park complex at Sprain Ridge opened on July 4, and includes a new children’s aquatic spray ground, a child-friendly pool, a refurbished concessions area, as well as an upgraded bathhouse and bathrooms.
