Since the renovation began a year ago, the library and its books have been temporarily housed in the South Salem Presbyterian Church, 111 Spring St.

Grand opening plans include a 'Book Brigade' of 200-300 people to carry the library's last 100 books to the renovated building at 9 a.m. April 25. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony will follow.

The weekend's schedule includes events for both adults and kids. Curious George will make an appearance, there are guided tours and a scavenger hunt planned, plus adults can enjoy a demonstration of the new technology available and try their luck at a Book Trivia Challenge.

Anyone four and up interested in joining the Book Brigade can sign up by calling 875-9004 or e-mailing lewisborolibrary@gmail.com. Both a phone number and the number of family members are requested in advance. .

A full list of activities will be posted at the library's website
