Lewisboro Horsemen Assoc. Sets Fall Hunter Pace

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Lewisboro Horsemen's Association will host its annual Fall Hunter Pace at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation on Sunday, Oct. 2.

The event is part of the Associated Bridle Trails Fall Pace Series, which includes hunter paces in Putnam, Bedford, Pawling, Greenwich, Conn., and Newtown, Conn. Ribbons will be awarded from first to 10th place, with winners earning points towards trophies in the Fall Pace Series.

Entrance fees include a hot buffet lunch and admission to the park for one tow vehicle and trailer. Lunch is also available for non-riders. A $10 surcharge will be added to registration received the day of the event.

Start times will be from 8 a.m. to noon, with lunch served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the awards ceremony will be at 2 p.m. The divisions are Hunt, Pleasure, Junior (at least one rider 18 or under), and Western (at least one Western rider). Teams may have two or three riders. Riders under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. New this year will be a "Munchkin Run."

Now celebrating its 21st season, the Lewisboro Horsemen’s Association continues to develop and maintain over 25 miles of trails throughout Lewisboro. The organization holds events throughout the year, including its Spring Poker Run, a holiday party and family barbecues in the summer, as well as trail cleanup days and educational seminars.

LHA members receive a discount on the pace registration fee. Trail membership is $55 per year for an individual and $65 per family. Supporting membership for those who do not own horses but want to support the trail system is $30. Juniors are encouraged to join.
