LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Growth and Development Services invites community leaders, parents, teachers, police and firefighters, local youths and anyone else interested in empowering the Lewisboro community to a meeting at South Salem’s Horse and Hound restaurant on Tuesday, March 26.
The event falls under the auspices of Reach Your Potential, an adjunct GDS organization. The nonprofit GDS, devoted to helping people with social, emotional, educational or behavioral issues, works in partnership with the South Salem Presbyterian Church, local government officials, law enforcement, school administrators, parents and youths.
The discussion will focus on ways to improve the community through the use of therapeutic, educational and recreational services. One of the suggested goals is the creation of a local youth center.
Tuesday’s meeting at the Horse and Hound begins at 7:30 p.m. and will end about 9. The restaurant is at 94 Spring St. in South Salem.

Let's get the youth busy with important projects to raise their self esteem and give them a purpose, a purpose to get up everyday in a positive ray of light. Putting together a youth center in my mind is eminent, approved by parents but a place, where kids can find themselves and open up to the proper professionals and people. So they don't get overwhelmed with life and are up against the wall, introspective and depressed. Yay, great idea, Dr. Altheim, keep on teaching us!! And, we will listen.
This is so important , please take the time to HELP this worthy cause !!
Keep up the hard work Dr. Altheim
