LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Friday will mark 14 years since the terrorist attacks and the town of Lewisboro asks the community to observe a moment of silence or reflection, or observe multiple moments of silence at the following times marking key moments of that day:
8:46 a.m.: American Airlines Flight 11 strikes the North Tower of the World Trade Center
9:03 a.m.: United Airlines Flight 175 strikes the South Tower of the World Trade Center
9:37 a.m.: American Airlines Flight 77 strikes the Pentagon
9:59 a.m.: South Tower collapses
10:03 a.m.: United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in Somerset County, Pennsylvania
10:28 a.m.: North Tower collapses
There will be no formal memorial service, but the community is invited to take some time Friday to visit the town’s September 11 and United States Marine Corps Corporal Jackowski Memorials on the back lawn of the Vista Firehouse, 377 Smith Ridge Road (Route 123), South Salem.
The Memorial is open to the public every day. Small tokens of remembrance are allowed at the memorial.
