This is a fast-paced trivia competition for avid readers in Grades Four through Nine. A total of 17 libraries, nearly half of the libraries in Westchester County, will participate. There will be two separate competitions on the same day, a Children’s (Grades 4 through 6) and a Teens’ (Grades 6 through 9) tournament.

Trophies will be presented to the winning teams by a representative of the Office of County Executive Rob Astorino. The presence of Battle of the Books in Westchester is largely due to the efforts of Liz Anastasi, Reference & Young Adult Librarian at the Field Library in Peekskill.

The following libraries will have a children’s and/or a teens' team: Ardsley Public Library, Bedford Free Library, Briarcliff Manor Public Library, Bronxville Public Library, Dobbs Ferry Public Library, Eastchester Public Library, The Field Library (Peekskill), Greenburgh Public Library, Hendrick Hudson Free Library (Montrose), Larchmont Public Library, Mount Pleasant Public Library, Ossining Public Library, Ruth Keeler Memorial Library (North Salem), Rye Free Reading Room, Somers Library Town of Pelham Public Library and White Plains Public Library.
