Several Fairfield County High Schools Rank Among Connecticut's Best

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Several Fairfield County high schools have been ranked among the best in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report in rankings released Tuesday morning.

Weston High School was ranked the best high school in Fairfield Conty and fifth in the state.

Weston High School took top honors in the county and was ranked fifth overall in the state. The school exceeded exceeded the state average in all of the surveys major metrics, which included: College readiness, mathematics proficiency and English proficiency.

Other high schools in Fairfield County were ranked in the Top 50 in the state, including:

  • Weston (No. 5)
  • Staples (No. 7)
  • Darien (No. 8)
  • Wilton (No. 9)
  • Ridgefield (No. 11)
  • Joel Barlow (No. 13)
  • Greenwich (No. 14) 
  • New Canaan (No. 15)
  • Fairfield Ludlowe (No. 24)
  • Fairfield Warde (No. 30)
  • Westhill (No. 32)
  • Brien McMahon (No. 41)
  • Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (No. 43)

Honors for the top ranked high school in the Nutmeg State went to the Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford.
