Katonah Museum of Art Announces Exhibit Winners

KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Katonah Museum of Art has announced winners of its tristate juried exhibition, "Line Describing a Cone," which is on display through Sunday, Feb. 15

From the 636 pieces that were submitted for consideration by artists from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, 92 works by 78 artists were chosen for the exhibition.

Three winners were awarded cash prizes at the exhibition’s opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 17. Winners include: Lara Knutson, Manhattan (Upper West Side), $1,000 first prize; Erik Sanner, Manhattan (Harlem), $750 second prize; Marlene Siff, Westport, Conn., $500 third prize. 

Honorable mentions include: David Hutchinson, Pound Ridge; Lael Morgan, Croton-on-Hudson; Kiyoshi Otsuka, Bronxville; Sui Park, Brooklyn; Susan Walsh, Beacon.

Artists living in the tristate area were invited to submit up to three paintings, drawings, prints, mixed-media works, sculptures, photographs or videos, executed since 2010. Works in all media were eligible for awards.

Eva Respini, Museum of Modern Art curator, served as the exhibition’s juror. 

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m.; it is closed Mondays.
