The parade was canceled due to weather but the rest of the festivities took place as planned.

The Anticoh Baptist Choir performed, followed by an ecumenical service. There was plenty of musical entertainment and food favorites, including barbecue. The party ran until dusk.

The event honors John Lewis for his legendary generosity toward the town and the parish. In 2013, Lewisboro Town Supervisor Peter Parsons officially proclaimed the first Saturday after Oct. 1 (the date of Lewis’ death in 1871) as John Lewis Day and encouraged “all residents to celebrate on this day their town’s rich history, and the volunteers and supporters who have made, and continue to make, this community a success.”
