Kevon Larkins, 35, posted $42,500 bail and was released pending a Municipal Court hearing.

Police were called to the woman’s South Prospect Avenue home on Saturday.

They “determined that Kevon Larkins assaulted the mother of his children,” including slamming a door on her hand, which required medical attention, Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.

He also threatened further violence, the captain said.

Officers grabbed Larkins as he tried to leave, Salcedo said, adding that the School Board member was taken into custody without incident.

Police charged the 5-foot-9-inch former Hackensack High School track star with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

They added an additional assault charge in connection with a similar alleged incident on Jan. 7, Salcedo said.

Larkins, who has a record of petty offenses, was elected to the School Board last April.
