RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Known for his hits “She Says” and “Collide,” singer/songwriter Howie Day will headline in a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at The Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 E. Ridge Road.
The special guest is pop-folk-country singer/songwriter Eliza Paltauf.
After sales in excess of one million albums and two Top 10 hits, Day is back on the road showcasing old favorites, as well as new material from his upcoming studio release, the playhouse said in a news release.
His energetic and heartfelt shows allow Day to connect with audiences through the strength of his songwriting and quirky sense of humor. Some call his music alternative rock, others say it’s pop rock, others label it indie rock.
Howie not only sings, but also plays the piano and guitar and has won five Boston Music Awards including Male Vocalist of the Year (twice), Outstanding Male Vocalist, and Outstanding Male Singer/Songwriter. The Boston Globe called Day “gorgeously seasoned, far beyond his years” with “a brave, beautiful singing voice."
Southwest Café at 109 Danbury Road will pour a complimentary margarita with dinner the night of the show when tickets are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass for $25 additional per person includes a pre-show cocktail party from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors- d’oeuvres and priority parking.
