LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The South Salem Ghost Walk will be at 7 p.m. Saturday as town historian and author Maureen Koehl leads this one-hour tour of local sites with a haunted history.
It steps off from the library and travels the roads surrounding Main Street. Along the way, prepare to meet some ghosts of former residents. Please arrive promptly and bring a flashlight.
Koehl is the author of "Lewisboro Ghosts: Strange Tales and Scary Sightings."
The next day, award-winning author Russell Shorto will give a lecture on Dutch-American relations and history at 4 p.m. at the Lewisboro Library, 15 Main St. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Shorto has written several best-selling books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages. His books include "Amsterdam: A History of the World's Most Liberal City," "Descartes' Bones: A Skeletal History of the Conflict Between Faith and Reason" and "The Island at the Center of the World: The Epic Story of Dutch Manhattan and the Forgotten Colony that Shaped America."
