The seven plays, some of which are award-winning, are being performed by the ensemble of Axial Theatre company actors and guests.

Rachael Jones, a company member and Howard Meyer’s Acting Program instructor, is a coordinating director over the overall production along with Lori Lowe. Directors of the individual plays include Ed Friedman of New Rochelle, Robin Joseph of Hastings and Patrick Davin of Rye.

According to a statement from the theater, the one-act plays encompass a “vibrant mix of genres ranging from all-out farce to quirky comedy to full-tilt drama.” Each deals with a common theme of identities in crisis.

The plays include “Agua Dulce” by Lloyd Pace, “Day of Beauty” by Gabrielle Fox of Mount Kisco, “Girl with Guitar” by Albi Gorn of Hastings, “Privileged” by Evelyn Mertens of Briarcliff Manor, “Welcome to Norway” by Robin Joseph of Hastings, “They” by Patrick Davin of Rye, and “Doctor, Doctor” by Ward James Riley.

“Identity is an important underlying theme tying these pieces together, how we see ourselves, how other see us – accurately and inaccurately – and how we come to find or lose our sense of self,” said Linda Giuliano, Axial’s associate artistic director and literary manager. “In each case, we look in the mirror of someone else’s eyes.”

The ensemble cast includes Ward James Riley and Michael Boyle Jr. of Ossining, Jess Erick and Susan Ward of Sleepy Hollow, Rofa Abayon, Michael Witkes, Pamela Brojaw, Mickey Pantano and Anthony Barresi Jr. of Golden’s Bridge, Laura Credidio, Anne Hammond and Gail Greenstein of Katonah, and Cash Tilton.

Axial Theatre is located in the Community House of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 8 Sunnyside Ave. in Pleasantville. Evening shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Matinees are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday through May 22.
