The marchers went in a loop on Katonah Avenue, passing by various shops and stopping near the train station before turning around. Cider and donuts were served following the parade.
This year's parade is the second that was funded through Kickstarter, according to Julia Klagsbrun, who was an organizer.
Klagsbrun recalled that this year's parade almost did not happen.
“Last year we raised the funds within three days," she said. "This year it was a little slower.”
Klagsbrun added: “But then I put a notice on Facebook that said I was afraid it wasn't going to happen and then all sorts of money came in.”
The fundraiser brought in $2,890, surpassing the goal of $2,400. Klagsbrun would like for remaining money to be used for a reserve.
Klagsbrun is a member of the Katonah Village Improvement Society (KVIS), which served as the sponsor. She also had specific praise for Susan Maher, owner of the store Breeze, along with Bedford Police Lt. Melvin Padilla, whohad n she said was “extremely supportive and helpful.”
