Moon, which opened on Thursday, Jan. 21, in Greenwich, focuses on a mix of Japanese, Chinese, and Thai ingredients and flavors, prepared with an American slant.

Located at 130 E Putnam Ave., next to the town center, Moon strives to offer affordable dishes in an otherwise pricey dining arena.

At the newly renovated restaurant, experienced sushi chefs create adventurous dishes using local and fresh ingredients that just about any resident can afford.

The restaurant, which is quickly building a following, features a large sushi menu, with options for a 12- or 14-course "omakase" sampling menu.

Some favorites include grilled octopus and pork belly boas, while main courses include lamb loin, steaks, and much more.

One Yelp reviewer said: "What an incredible experience. Everything was exceptional and high-quality. The decor was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and gave thoughtful recommendations when asked. The food was out of this world. My personal favorites were the oysters (so fresh and delectable) and the lamb (again, absolutely otherworldly.) "

Another experienced an equally favorable dinner: "From start, to finish this place never ceased to impress. The decor as you walk in was chic and minimal but so inviting. The staff/servers were very attentive and created such a personalized experience. There was such an array of food that I truly wanted to try everything."

The restaurant's owners said they hope to become a gathering place and the "go-to" place to dine.

The restaurant is open from 5 to 11 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, and from 4 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday.
