LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The 51st annual Lewisboro Library Fair will be held rain or shine, Saturday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Onatru Farm, 99 Elmwood Road, South Salem.

The book and toy pre-sale, for residents only, will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, 5-9 p.m. It continues Friday, Sept. 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the giant Attic Treasures, book and toy sales, the fair also features a corn maze, kids’ games, an inflatable climbing wall, local vendors, music and the return of Battle of the Bakers. There will be a variety of foods, with offerings from the Lions Club, the Horse & Hound, Erica’s Pizza, Le Chateau, plus a dedicated veggie grill for veggie burgers.

This year's Battle of the Bakers will specialize in fruit pies. Entries will be limited to fruit pies of any type – from scratch only. Entries must be delivered to the pie contest area of the fair by noon on Fair day. After judging, pies will be sold at the bake sale table.

Prior registration is not necessary. Contact Maureen Koehl at (914)763-3326 or funnyfarm.ss@verizon.net for more information about the pie sale.

Those who have a favorite homemade treat to donate to the bake sale, bring it by the bake sale table on the day of the Fair, or call Rita Schaffer at (914) 763-8149 to arrange for a pick-up.

The Fair will also feature a car show – Concours d’Elegance, sponsored by Arroway Chevrolet Cadillac of Mt. Kisco. The Chevrolet Volt will be among the green technology vehicles featured this year.

Automobiles ranging from show cars to "backyard classics" are invited to participate. Awards are given in each of several categories courtesy of the sponsor. All attendees receive dash plates. To register, contact Dean Travalino at (914) 763-5393 or r5fuego@aol.com. There is no entry fee, but space is limited.

The Library Fair raffle is one of the Fair’s biggest moneymakers, and a way to show support for the library. This year’s prizes include a 55-inch flat-panel LCD HDTV, an Apple iPad 2, and dinner for two at Le Chateau. Books of five tickets are available at the library and on Fair day for $40 or single tickets for $10 each. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at the Library Fair.

Those who are part of a community organization interested in having a display at the Fair can fill out and mail in a form available at the library’s website, www.lewisborolibrary.com.

Those who have a small business they would like to showcase at the fair, fill out and mail in the vendor form (also available at the website) along with the reservation fee.
