LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Cross River and Goldens Bridge business districts, like many others in Westchester, have suffered in the economic downturn. With an eye toward the future, The Lewisboro Daily Voice asked local residents what sorts of businesses they would like to see in the empty retail spaces.
Most people have their minds set on refreshments of some kind. Andrea Dadio said a Starbuck’s would be nice, Barbara Lehman suggested Panera Bread and Elizabeth Rae Katz thought any sort of bakery would be welcome.
Karen Jahn would also like to see a Panera Bread shop and suggested that a Tex-Mex restaurant would be a nice addition to the local cuisine. “One that would serve lunch, dinner and takeout,” she said.
Baret Upham was a little more upscale, suggesting a sports or wine bar.
Others were as adamant about what they did not want to see. “Not another nail place or bank,” said Joan Meltzer. Gary Figler said, “Not another frozen yogurt shop, that’s for sure.
