According to multiple reports, with its stock falling more than 30 percent in the past year, GameStop officials have announced that they will be shuttering the doors of no less than 150 stores as digital downloads and gaming becomes more prevalent.

In the fourth quarter last year, GameStop reportedly reported that global sales decreased nearly 15 percent, down to approximately $3 billion. The closure comes on the heels of other brick-and-mortar staples such as Kmart, Sears and Macy’s announcing hundreds of closures throughout the country.

The company now plans to focus on its Spring Mobile wireless retail brand and sales of pop culture collectibles in an effort to turn business around, according to a CNN report. CNBC reported last month that digital video game downloads are up nearly 10 percent, furthering GameStop’s business woes.

No word has been given, but GameStop locations in Brewster, Yorktown, White Plains, Thornwood, Ossining, Cortlandt and the Palisades Center in West Nyack may be affected by the closures.
