CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – DeCicco Family Markets will host a Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the parking lot of its store in the Orchard Square shopping center on Route 121 in Cross River.

The event will include more than 50 vendors featuring produce, cheeses, meats, dairy products, coffees and locally brewed beers. There will also be a DJ on hand.

“It’s geared toward organic products featuring local farmers,” said Ainsley Brown, manager of the Cross River store. Brown said that “local” is defined as any vendor within a 150-mile radius.

Vendors will include Ryder Farms from North Salem, Captain Lawrence Brewery in Lewisboro, Blue Point Brewery in Long Island and Bear Mountain Coffee Roasters from Yorktown Heights.

Brown said that while DeCicco’s has held fall festivals at its stores in the past, this is the first year that the family-owned chain of markets is sponsoring food festivals. It held one at its Brewster location in June.

Festival visitors will be able to check out samples at tasting tables and observe demonstrations put on by the vendors.

“We’ll have things going on inside the store as well,” Brown said. “It’s supposed to be a hot day, so Poland Spring will be on hand giving away water.”
