Editorial Team

Karen Tensa

Karen has lived and worked in Connecticut for more than two decades. Her professional experience includes more than a decade of work as the news editor at The Advocate in Stamford and reporting and editing stints on the staff of The Hartford Courant, among others. She is dedicated to local news, winter sports and reading nonfiction books.

Andrea Graziano

Andrea Graziano was a reporter for the Journal News in Rockland and Westchester counties for eight years, covering everything from schools to immigration to breaking news. Prior to that she worked at a chain of weekly newspapers on Long Island's North Shore and as a freelance writer for Yankees Magazine. She has a Master's Degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. When not working, she enjoys reading, running and spending as much time as possible with her husband and two sons.

Zak Failla

Zak worked as a sports editor at the Shoshone News Press in northern Idaho and as a sports writer at the Ithaca Journal before making his way to The Daily Voice. He is a Long Island native and proud alum of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communication. When he’s not bemoaning the Atlanta Braves’ playoff woes, you can probably find him on the phone with his mom.

Joe Lombardi

Joe Lombardi, managing editor and director of media initiatives, returned to Daily Voice in September, 2013 after serving as a sports editorial consultant here from August 2011 through January 2012.

Lombardi has spent much of his professional career as an award-winning newsroom manager, writer and editor who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The New York City native and Irvington High School graduate is also an innovative entrepreneur who is a team leader, team builder and multimedia, multi-platform professional.

He has been actively involved in web publishing for such sites as Yahoo’s rivals.com, CBS’s MaxPreps.com, NBA.com, SLAMonline.com, InsideLacrosse.com, LoHud.com, MSGVarsity.com and LaxLessons.com. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Joe Jenkins

Joe Jenkins is a reporter who has worked for various publications including the Poughkeepsie Journal and the New York Daily News. He Graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2003 and received his master's degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in 2012. Joe is also a contributing columnist and analyst for various online sports publications.

Sam Barron

An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Tom Auchterlonie

Tom Auchterlonie is an experienced local journalist and is originally from Mount Kisco. Prior to joining The Daily Voice he spent more than four years at Patch.com, where he covered Mount Kisco, New Castle and Bedford. He has also freelanced for various local publications, including The Examiner, Inside Chappaqua and The Record-Review. Tom is an alumnus of Syracuse University.

Jon Craig

Pleasantville native Jon Craig covers Southern Westchester for the Daily Voice. Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in New York and Ohio and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Alesha Hanson

Alesha Hanson is a graduate of Pace University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Alesha has knowledge in marketing, promotions and social media. In the past, Alesha interned at WFAS Radio as a marketing and promotions intern and as a social media marketing intern for SHARE: Self-Help for Women with Breast and Ovarian Cancer. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, listening to music and hanging out with friends and family. 

Jeanne Muchnick

Jeanne Muchnick’s editorial career has spanned multi-media platforms and topics, from baby advice for Parents to travel finds for family.com to human interest features for The New York Times to lifestyle insights for prevention.com. She has been a Senior Editor at top national women’s magazines including Woman’s World and Woman’s Day and was instrumental in the launch of InTown, Rockland and Putnam magazines. When she’s not writing or editing, you can find her relaxing at Orchard Beach with a good paperback.

Angelica Carey

Angelica Carey has lived in South Salem, NY for 12 years with her husband David and their two daughters. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, she works as a corporate speechwriter. Her favorite things about Lewisboro are the Library, the Town Pool, and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. She’d rather be watching SEC football.

Kara Whelan

Kara H. Whelan, a Chappaqua native, resides in South Salem with her family. Her children are active in local sports programs and Kara serves as a volunteer with the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. Kara works for a regional land conservation organization and has spent her career in the environmental non-profit sector with a focus on development, communications, and community engagement. She enjoys learning about Lewisboro's rich history and exploring new running routes along South Salem's scenic roads.
