10506er -- I agree 100%. Rye Country Day has an outstanding outreach program and brings in bright students who are economically disadvantaged from the Bronx, New Rochelle, Port Chester, etc... We are fortunate to have the these top-notch private schools in our area -- "A rising tide lifts all boats".
Just think about how dangerous that area is now, will be 100 times worse when the shopping mall is built. Not to mention the seriously dangerous entrance that will be directly across from the high school entrance.
You are right about Greenstein's lack of vision. He has none.
Maybe we can take a lesson from School Buses and simply stop at the crossing, look then cross. Very simple, cost nothing and saves lives. Something to think about.
